Sleep disordered breathing is complex. The factors that contribute to the disorder dictate the type of treatment undertaken and affect recovery. It's impossible to guarantee complete success for everybody. Treatment may fully or partially alleviate symptoms, to the extent that a patient’s sleep experience should improve, with sleep being less disrupted and snoring no longer, or less of an issue. However, there are some patients for whom treatment remains difficult. A patient may need, for example, to lose a considerable amount of weight or change their lifestyle to fully benefit from treatment.
The level of success also depends upon the type of treatment advocated for each particular patient. Some treatments, such as CPAP are 100% successful, if tolerated. We aim to provide treatment and advice of value to everybody at the clinic.
