Snoring
Obstruction of the normal air flow during breathing, whilst sleeping can cause loud vibration of the throat muscles causing snoring problems and sleep disorders. The sound can be soft or more loud and disturbing. Snoring can be deeply disruptive and indicate further sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnoea.
Disruptive snoring may need assessment in order to ensure continuing sleep health and prevent worsening of the condition and further health disorders developing. Relationships between couples can be tested and it is not uncommon to move to separate bedrooms to gain a good night’s sleep. Many snorers find that embarrassment about their condition limits their social or work life, as they don’t like having visitors or staying away from home.
